An opportunity to join a progressive and expanding business providing building services and specialist construction project management services in the commercial, healthcare and retail sectors.

Our client requires an experienced site manager who has a strong trade or a mechanical engineering background to manage or all site based operations. Their projects are based throughout the UK and will require an individual to be based on site Mon-Friday therefore requiring them to work away from home.

The successful candidate must have good all round construction knowledge from foundations to roof including structural, mechanical and electrical knowledge. Responsibilities will include acting as main site representative for all client, architect and lead engineer enquiries. Management of all site based administration processes with the support of a site based administrator. Liaison with HO and the Operations Manager. Ensure that all works programs are on schedule and within budget and highlight any foreseen issues with the Operations Manager.

Candidates must be confident in reading and understanding drawings and have a thorough understanding of planning and building control requirements. Responsible for the implementation of site H & S and CDM 2007 requirements. Strong communication skills and a pro-active attitude are required for the co-ordination and management of site based labour. Management of sub-contractors will include daily progress meetings with sub-contractors and toolbox team talks.

The successful candidate will have a strong and confident personality with the ability to liaise and engage effectively at all levels. A flexible, proactive attitude is essential along with the ability to work in a busy and often pressurised role with changing priorities which requires the person to think on their feet and deliver solutions. Must be computer literate.
